Most people pursuing  work from home business opportunities put a lot of effort into being successful.   So much so, it is easy to forget about taking care of your health.  Many home-based businesses today are carried out almost entirely online, and that means a lot of sitting and very little exercise.

To stay healthy when you work at home, you really have to put in a conscious effort.

It is easy to get wrapped up into finishing a project so you stay glued to your computer and push yourself to stick it out.  Did you know if you regularly take short breaks and get up and move around, you will be more energetic and able to think more clearly… and actually get more done?

How many times have you sat at your desk and fought to stay awake while you worked on your duties?

It probably happens quite a bit.  To stay alert and focused, there is no need to rely on coffee or other stimulants.  Just:

  • Get more exercise instead.
  • Set a timer to keep you focused and for great time management, and
  • Get up periodically and get your blood pumping.

Take a brisk walk around the block or hop on your treadmill.  In addition to those short breaks to recharge, you should also aim to get at least thirty minutes of moderately intense exercise every day.  This will help you stay healthier and ward off obesity and other ailments that accompany a sedentary lifestyle.

Don’t forget to watch your diet too. Eat healthy snacks of raw vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts, rather than munching on high-carb chips or candy while you are working.  Refined carbs and sugar will only cause a rebound effect that makes you sleepy later on.
So remember, whether you’re already a home-based business owner or currently doing your due diligence on various work from home business opportunities,

in order to be at the top of your game, you have to feel alert and be productive.  A good diet and plenty of exercise can help you get there.
