Success will follow when your dreams are bigger than the obstacles you face – that’s the network marketing mindset you need to succeed.
Who loves a good underdog story? I know I do when there’s a lesson to be learned about how an underdog overcomes adversity to achieve a life-changing outcome.
Well just this last week I heard a powerful story about a couple from Mexico who now run a multimillion dollar business here in Canada. This couple arrived in Canada with next to NO money to begin any kind of business, let alone the thriving fashion business which they now have on one of the most prominent streets in Toronto!
When they first arrived the wife turned to her husband and said “Some day I am GOING to have my own store right on this street”. He didn’t want to crush her dreams and did what any good spouse would do:
He supported her in everything she did and worked hard until one fine day they opened up shop. They made it happen when so many other businesses failed around them even though they started with less than 99% of those other business owners.
This is a true story of vision and pursuing your passion in life until you succeed, and developing the mindset that it takes to turn what seems like a crazy dream into a reality!
I’ve heard it said by many leaders in the world of network marketing that success exists mostly between your ears and self-talk will rule your destiny and determine whether you succeed or fail.
How true this is! Most success stories I have heard began with someone who was in a real fix and at a low point in their life. They were shocked into taking a hard look at themselves, and responded in a way that top achievers do: they made a decision that they were going to succeed no matter what!
There are two steps to attaining a network marketing mindset to make your own dreams come true:
1) Understand that the kind of mindset we need to develop has 2 aspects to it :
a) how we view network marketing and b) how we view ourselves and our own ability to succeed.

As an Internet marketing success coach, I was just yesterday reminded of something that few hardworking Internet
Marketers understand until it’s too late and they’re already out of funds,
frustrated and wondering why they wasted the last few months chasing a dream!
They quit before waking up to this truth when they are literally INCHES from the finish line.…
It’s sad but true…
They’re left scratching their heads and justify their decision to QUIT by saying
something like “there’s too much competition” (Er, NO! – Millions are coming online
every month looking for what we have to offer as home business owners in a tough economy)…
or “the compensation plan is terrible” (You mean there WAS no compensation because
there were no (or very few) sales coming in!)
or “I’m just not cut out for this Internet marketing thing” (Well, maybe you are, keep reading)
or “I didn’t have enough support to finally break through and was constantly wasting time on things I didn’t understand.
So I bought a course to help me, but then found a new problem, so I bought another, then another….” (Expensive! Did you consider a
business plan?)
Well, YES! Absolutely, I agree with that last one! No support? Now THAT is
an all-too-common problem.
How critical is it to have support..?!
DO YOU KNOW how many people spend months dazed and confused trying to wrap their head around
all the ins and outs of Internet marketing TECHNICALS and never actually have enough time for
the MARKETING itself?
How many people give up on themselves thinking they’re not cut out to be Internet marketers
but fail to realize that they are not actually Marketing enough to get the exposure that brings results?
SO what does this have to do with having an Internet marketing success coach?
Remember I said earlier that “I was just yesterday reminded of something that few people understand..”
Well, there we all were as a family sitting around the dinner table and I was asking my kids what evil or cute characters they were going
to dress up as for Halloween this year.
My eldest daughter Victoria said “A Reese’s Pieces,” to which I replied “Since when is Halloween
all about chocolate?” (ask a silly question !!!)
Anyway, she then quickly changed her mind for the tenth time this month
to “Bellatrix” (you know, from Harry Potter, one of “he-who-shall-not-be-named”’s henchwomen(?), the evil witch-like character played by Helena Bonham Carter:

Lightbulb!!! Remember how Harry feels all alone and afraid facing the dark forces, particularly
when naughty Bellatrix snuffs out his fatherly friend Sirius Black…
His task seems impossible…
“Hold it Rich, you’re surely not comparing the wonderful world of the Internet to the slightly scary world of Harry Potter are you?”
~~No, not for a second,
but let’s face it, as a newbie Internet marketer, you are tackling a huge problem, and one that most
regular business owners never have to face!!!
That is, you must be a wearer of SO many hats, you’re a technician, a business person, a content creator, AND, if you get time, a MARKETER too.
You see, most people just don’t understand the MOUNTAIN it is that they are trying to climb on their own as Internet marketers and don’t realize how much frustration they could avoid, not to mention the TIME saved if they simply partnered up with an Internet marketing success coach! ….
Harry was an underdog too and the ODDS OF SUCCESS were slim to none.
But he found a good mentor in the good wizard Dumbledore that allowed him to find the strength and ability that already lay within him!
You and I both know that success is ALL about YOU because systems work, it’s PEOPLE that fail.

Great Listening Skills for Network Marketers
How are your listening skills?
Did you know that the #1 Skill that all top negotiators and producers in the direct sales industry will tell you is devastatingly simple and can be practiced by anyone? Here it is:
The more you listen, the more you will recruit and sell!
Better still, learning to listen will improve your friendships and home life!
Sure, there’s a time to get enthusiastic and do the talking when you’re involved in network marketing but keep everything permission-based – engage your prospect first by asking questions first to show you care – I know you do care because you’re in this industry but..
…just don’t forget to show it.
So ask questions in order to find out what your prospects’ situation, experience, and goals are then…
Sit back and listen… develop great listening skills and build a relationship !
Also remember that you want to have a true impact on people’s lives, right?
So work from a place of integrity where you ask questions to ensure there’s a good fit between your offer and your prospects’ and new business friends’ needs.
Now, obviously, you don’t want to disqualify anyone because so often those that you may think will join your business will not and others will surprise you by joining…
…and that’s precisely why you have to ask those burning and important questions to help potential candidates qualify and sell themselves on your business.
By asking questions you shift the focus from yourself and onto your prospects and motivate those that have a strong reason why & level of commitment to step forward and take action.
Using great listening skills then makes the prospecting process less about sales, at least in the hard sell sense of the word, and more about network marketing in which you become a ‘professional inviter’ and provider of information to candidates rather than a pushy sales person who clearly has a greater interest in money and themselves than in providing a valuable service.
Wouldn’t you rather be a professional inviter, sorting through potential candidates with your great listening skills, than someone who will take money from anyone for money’s sake?
The most important question to consider in all of this for the sake of your sanity is this:
How will your team look in 6 months’ time when you have attracted and recruited the right people into your business?
You will most likely find that, with the right business partners, your enthusiasm and energy levels will be even higher in 6 months’ time than they are now with much high duplication levels than if you try building your business in any other way !
This is just a smart way to build a team and a business!

Why So Many Startup Home Based Business Owners Struggle and 3 Actions You Must Take to Guarantee Success
Why do so many startup home based business owners struggle and what specific actions must you take to ensure your own success?
I’d like to help you find the answer by introducing you to three characters you may recognize to some degree.
Perhaps you know some startup home based business owners who resemble the 3 characters below in some way.
I hope you find this fun but also valuable – heck, who doesn’t find this kind of exercise of reflection useful to their business ?
I know I did. So here are our 3 friends:
John is a complete and utter failure in everything he touches and his web based home business is no exception.
He has invested good money in his business but he is close to packing it in already after only a few months.
Ted, on the other hand, has the “Midas touch” and his computer is like an ATM to him that he takes everywhere on his travels as he works his web based home business while enjoying total freedom, from the white sand of the Cayman islands to the classy hotels where he frequently stays in Vegas with his wife.
Jane is 90% of the way there but is missing one key element that keeps her in the “poor house.”
They are all startup home based business owners, but to see their websites you would not know that their respective average incomes range from $150 per month to $22000 per month.
How can this be?
Surprising until you look a little deeper.
First of all, John has confused having a startup home based business with a J-O-B. He literally expects the cheques to roll in from the first month and, unlike success business people, is NOT working his “tail off” to ensure his business gets off to a fast start.
You have guessed it!
He has fallen for the get-rich-quick lie that the Internet is a machine that spits out money
as soon as you have a website. No long-term commitment or strategy = failure for 98% of Internet
marketers.
You see, John outsources his website creation to designers and sits back paying no attention to search engine optimization, expecting a torrent of customers overnight.
Now Ted, on the other hand, is what some people call an “Internet rock star.”
From day one, he treated his web based home business like any other business that required commitment and hard work.
Sure he knew that the Internet represented a unique opportunity since his business would
be running 24/7.
BUT – he recognized that to earn good or even great money he would have to work at it
relentlessly, perhaps even harder than a traditional franchise opportunity.
As you know, a Macdonalds franchise
can expect customers on the day of opening.
But Ted knew that his web based home business would at first be invisible!
Ted works tirelessly and on a daily basis employs a few highly effective marketing strategies,
performing income-producing activities, and developing a skillset that allows him to provide value
- the cheques follow and grow over time
but he also has a secret ingredient detailed below.
Now Jane has a beautiful website and is working hard to provide value
and build a web based home business. She has a long-term view and is developing skills in writing articles for her website, building up her social media lists, and studying a lot.
She is working hard and is 90% of the way there.
Her income is far less than 90% of Ted’s, however!
So what’s missing?
No-one knows her website exists, she has no articles outside her website,
and she is not taking consistent, income-producing action to establish an authority presence online.
So here are the 3 Steps You Must Take to Build a successful startup home based business:
1) Work harder on yourself than you do on your business -(as the late Jim Rohn says) develop leadership qualities that attract
people to your business and give you the self-discipline and
mindset that brings success

Top Home Business Secrets – Is Burning Your Boat the Answer?
Ever tried ‘burning your boat’ and making a clean break with the past ? This could be the driving force in your creation of a top home business!
Here is a great example from history of someone who quite literally did this:
As the story goes, when Cortes and his fleet landed in Mexico in the 1500s, he gave his men an order to burn the ships that had brought them there to take away the possibility of doing anything other than pushing forward into the unknown.
Extreme? Most certainly, but imagine how much simpler things were after such drastic action.

One way or another, they either voluntarily metaphorically ‘burned their boat’ by putting it all on the line, or had their boat burned for them if, for example, they had the misfortune of being fired.
One hugely successful gentleman and his wife I recently heard about was actually thrown out of the house at the tender age of 13 by an abusive mother! There was no turning back for him. He has since created a legacy worth well over 100 million US dollars!
So many success stories show us the power of being in a situation (even voluntarily placing yourself in a situation) where there is no turning back.
You have NO choice but to commit to the future and create results.
This article is for you all you would-be entrepreneurs wondering if you have it in you to succeed and even create a top home business.
You probably already know deep inside that your success is largely mental and comes down to your own level of commitment to yourself and how much you are able to make a break with the past and
focus 100% on your future and what you want to create for yourself and those you care about.
Now I am not suggesting for a minute that you hand your notice in at work this Monday if you want to make it happen!
However, if you have recently lost your job, know that you have been handed a powerful motivator that I sincerely hope you will soon be able to look back on as a gift in the future you create for yourself.
If instead you are 90% on your way to making a decision about whether you should take a leap of faith in yourself, I recommend you take action if your heart is in it because you will then be forced to take massive action = results!
I can tell you from personal experience that once you have jumped off the fence and made that commitment, things are a lot easier!
The decision, once made, combined with your passion to create a new future as an entrepreneur will propel you forward.
Get excited, because in the words of Napoleon Hill, famed author of “Think & Grow Rich,”
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe… it can achieve.”
Another part of your success will be having someone who is truly committed to your success.
This will also give you the confidence to commit 100% to your vision and take action.
